I have bought a lot of items for travel and off grid living that just didn’t work and only worked half assed. My helio shower is not one of those things. When I started staying in a 70 sq tiny house in upstate NY right before winter, figuring out how to shower once the outdoor water was shut off was a huge problem. The normal camp shower bags looked flimsy and I love WATER PRESSURE. So I splurged on the Helio and as amazing as it was for the tiny house it was even better in my Van. It pumps easily with my foot, I can fill it quickly from a hose or my water jug and the water pressure is so good for showering that I cancelled my gym membership. It’s also been a life saver for doing dishes since I lived in the van 7 months before even beginning to build my kitchen.
I started wearing Wildings shoes in August of 2017. After watching their Instagram page for a year I emailed to find out when they would make adult shoes. Turns out they already did and I just wasn’t clicking the right label on the website (adult shoes are called rewildlings on the site). Then they were kind enough to send me several pairs of shoes. After hitchhiking in their Tanuki Yoru shoes made from paper and spending a New York winter in their Wolf shoes made of wool (I walked miles daily in snow and ice on roads and backcountry all winter), they are my go to closed toe minimalist shoe. I adore them. To see the website in English click the EN in the upper right corner of the website.
I wore Luna Sandals for years. They are the first minimalist sandal I wore that didn’t make me trip. The first pair I had lasted me about 4 years. My second pair didn’t fair as well as I hitchhiked all the southern states and then wore them all over the woods. That said, they lasted a good year of constant abuse. These are great sandals and I highly recommend them.
